ABOUT BODRUM HEALTH FOUNDATION PHYSIOTHERAPY AND HYDROTHERAPY CENTER
Healing
According to the Turkish Language Association, healing means getting into a good state. We believe that in a universe where absolute good does not exist, everything has the potential to heal or be healed. This conceptual foundation reminded us that healing is a holistic process rather than a singular state.
Bodrum: Functional Minimalism and Healing
When we look at Bodrum's traditional architecture, we see that the structures largely focus on functionality. Pure geometric forms and simple material usage form the basis of this minimalist approach, which we believe can contribute positively to the healing process.
Konacık: Inclusive Approach to Design Area
Konacık, being close to Bodrum's center and located on the D330 Highway, facilitates easy access to other towns on the peninsula. Its dynamic structure necessitates an inclusive design approach. The project parcel is surrounded by areas serving different functions: a worship area to the north, a park area to the east, and a residential area to the south.
Mass
One of the main elements we considered when designing the mass was providing common access to the park area for both users and the public. We sought a permeable solution that directly connects the street and the green area, dividing the building into two based on the needs of different users.
Spatialization of Functions
We conducted a detailed needs program analysis to clearly define the hierarchy and usage patterns of the spaces. The design allows for flexible spaces to accommodate similar functions, enhancing the building's usage flexibility.
Structural Evaluation of the Building
Situated in a high-seismic zone, the building is designed to meet the needs during and after an earthquake. The structure, composed of reinforced concrete and steel elements, is built on a grid and modular system, providing significant advantages in terms of static considerations.
